About Green Giant Trees

The green giant arborvitae which is taller and wider than the emerald green arborvitae, is typically a tall, cylindrical tree. This evergreen tree tends to grow vigorously and is typically in a pyramidal shape. Its color tends to a be a rich green color and is great for growing in the Pacific Northwest. Another benefit of the green giant arborvitae is that is has no serious pest or disease problems. The green giant can be a substitute for the Leyland cypress. The other benefit of green giant is that is can be left to grow naturally or it can be pruned into a beautiful hedge depending on your choice.

  • Comments: Green giant arborvitae is a good choice if you want a bigger emerald green. It maintains its green color all year and typically only shows "bronzing" as all cedars do in the fall/winter. This tree may be pruned. They also typically tend to fill-in and become denser as they age.
